Project One: The Wanderer Chronicles

Hello, I said that I was going to try to get this new series underway and here we go!

I thought I should probably explain a little about my novel that’s currently touring the publishers as it’s the first in this series of blog posts.

The Wanderer Chronicles is my take on the dystopian end of the world genre. The story follows the life of a man stranded and alone at the end of the world, living within the remains of society. The piece focuses upon him as a person and the way that he is forced to adapt and evolve throughout his journey as other survivors are thrust into his life.

I first came up with the concept for this story during a creative writing class and it was originally supposed to be a post apocalyptic television drama, but as I began to write, it just felt more and more like it deserved to be in book form. Also the first idea for the narrative structure was to have a series of short stories all following the protagonists journeys. I didn’t alter this entirely with the book being split into multiple parts with separate chapters within each.

The people who have been lucky enough (or unlucky enough, depending on the viewpoint) to have read it have all given me positive feedback. I can only hold out hope that it is as well received once it has been released.

For me, I’m all about the story itself. If people don’t enjoy that aspect but it was a commercial success, I wouldn’t be happy as I would know the success is hollow. I would much rather have a less known book that is well received and enjoyed by all than a purely moneymaking attempt without the love put into it.

I couldn’t go super in-depth with it obviously as it’s still awaiting to be published, but I hope it was interesting. I’ll aim to have the next projects info post uploaded for the following Thursday at the same time.

Thank you for reading.
